Literature Text
Scarlet liquid stains the floor,
There is room for so much more
Flickering flames dance around,
As the house falls to the ground
Two lives are now ending,
As their souls are ascending
For their sins, they have atoned,
Now they rest in silent stone
There is room for so much more
Flickering flames dance around,
As the house falls to the ground
Two lives are now ending,
As their souls are ascending
For their sins, they have atoned,
Now they rest in silent stone

Shoulda listened!
My great-grandfather used to tell me, "Don't chase after fridges because you'll only end up with a box in your forehead." I never quite understood his advice until one Midsummer, I was gardening with my best friend Tanya. All of a sudden, we found an underground tunnel! It was hairy and spooky sounds came from deep within. Tanya saw something interesting inside, jumped in, and I never saw her again. Great-granddaddy was right!

Irrelevant Advice
My great-grandfather used to tell me, "Don't chase after trees because you'll only end up with a paddle in your thumb." I never quite understood his advice until one halloween, I was gardening with my best friend Sally. All of a sudden, we found an underground tunnel! It was dastardly and spooky sounds came from deep within. Sally saw something interesting inside, jumped in, and I never saw her again. Great-granddaddy was right!

Composure
The harmony never came.
Strings and trilling flutes
were mute like an empty swan song.
She stood in arabesque.
Her body leaning forward
and her leg and arms extended.
A perfect ballerina
atop a child's music box
preparing to pirouette endlessly.
It was almost like
a page of sheet music
without notes or crescendos.
She was enveloped by stillness.
Ruptured by the void.
Frozen in eternal silence.
Her form wavered.
Gusts and rain gave way.
The world around her transformed
and colors rose and tumbled.
Bright reds faded into orange.
Grass grew and the winds blew
bending life into decay.
Her breast fell and her knee rose.
Her heel lifted

This is my fifth poem for NaPoWriMo, also known as National Poetry Writing Month. The goal is to write one poem a day, for all of April. I've decided to give it a try.
I also have a plan. My idea is to portray my novel The Prophecy of The Forbidden in these thirty poems. I'll do my best to accomplish that for as much as I possibly can.
First off -- I had started this off as another Limerick. The first four lines were done, but I couldn't fit what I still wanted to say in the last line. Therefore, I expanded the last line into another stanza.
I'm not quite as happy as this one, as I have been with the others, but I suppose not everything can be just as good.
Also, this is where it will start getting difficult to decipher what exactly is happening, in the plot. Cookies to anyone who can figure it out.
As always, comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.
